Our Mission

The 59th Newchapel Scout Group is a registered charity (number 1125807) in Stoke-on-Trent, focused on providing adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for young people aged 4–25. We've been part of the community since 1928.

Our mission is to help young people develop skills for life through fun, friendship, and adventure. We believe in the power of outdoor activities, teamwork, and personal challenge to build character and confidence.

As part of The Scout Association, we follow the Scout Promise and Law, promoting values of integrity, respect, care, belief, and co-operation.

Hiking, camping, climbing, and exploring the great outdoors to build resilience and appreciation for nature.

Our History

9th May 1928

Foundation

The 59th Newchapel Scout Group was established on 9th May 1928, with our first Group Scout Master being Reverend J. L. Monk.

1987

Growth & Development

In the 59th year of the 59th Newchapel Scout Group, a celebration was held where work was done to record the history of the group.

2000-2010

Modern Scouting

The focus shifted to extending our Headquarters to better serve our members, including improved facilities and accessibility.

2024

New Beginnings

Launch of our new Squirrel section for 4-6 year olds, continuing our commitment to serving the local community.

Present

Looking Ahead

After decades of work, the extension of our Scout Headquarters is finally underway, promising enhanced facilities for our members.
